About Southside AG
We are a Spirit-filled, Scripture-centered community committed to loving God and our neighbors.
Our Story
Rooted in Faith Since 1977
Southside AG was founded in 1977 by a small group of families with a simple conviction: that every person in our community deserves a place to belong. What started as a gathering of fewer than thirty people in a rented community room has grown into a multigenerational congregation rooted in faith, love, and service. Through decades of growth, we have remained committed to our original calling — to be a church that reflects the grace and compassion of Jesus Christ.

Pastor & Staff
John P. Goodman, Jr
Lead Pastor
Pastor John brings a fresh, new vision to Southside Assembly. He and his wife have a passion to see lives changed by the love of God and the Holy Spirit. Pastor John leans more toward expository preaching, as he believes it is the Word of God that will reach the lost. Discipleship is one of his key objectives in his ministry. He and his wife Courtney have four children.
Who We Are
Mission, Vision & Values
Our Mission
To make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
Luke 1:17
Our Vision
To see the people come to know the Father as their God, Jesus as their Savior, and the Holy Spirit as their guide.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 28:19
Our Values
- 1
Discipleship
We are called to be a light to the those around us, and instruct them to also be and do the same.
The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
2 Timothy 2:2 (NASB)
- 2
Accountability
We need each other to lean on in times of trouble, and to help us follow the right path at times.
Pay attention and always be on guard [looking out for one another]! If your brother sins and disregards God’s precepts, solemnly warn him; and if he repents and changes, forgive him.
Luke 17:3 (AMP)
- 3
Integrity
Do all things as though we were doing them for the Master. He sees all, even when no one else does.
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men
Colossians 3:23 (NASB 1995)
- 4
Spirit-Led
To follow after the will of the Father, by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16 (NASB 1995)
